PESO ALLE IMMAGINI is a project created by Pierfrancesco Solimene and Rosario Vicidomini, with the desire to create a blend between the contemporary drawings and a centuries-old tradition of Salerno ceramics (Italy).
The exchange between artistic skills and crafts, as well as between different cultural approaches, creates an interesting comparison between imaginaries that ideally follows the trail of contamination started in "German period" in Vietri, between the twenties and the Second World War, when the arrival of artisans and creative foreigners in ceramic factories in Salerno left a trail is still visible today in colours and themes in the decoration of traditional ceramics.
The young artists involved - eighteen among illustrators, painters, graphic artists, street artists and animators – have been confronted with the practical craft of ceramics during the workshops carried out in summer 2012 at the laboratory Solimente Art, in Cava dei Tirreni.
The participants are: Luca Caimmi, Mara Cerri, Cyop&Kaf, Anna Deflorian, DEM, Anton Engel, Lilli Gärtner, Magda Guidi, Eva Montanari, Marino Neri, Guido Pigni, Cristina Portolano, Beatrice Pucci, Sylvie Ringer, Marco Smacchia, Alice Socal, Marco Tabilio, Luca Vagnini.
